1. Changing Default Paper Size
  Question:
Is there any way to alter the default paper size from letter to A4 for network printing?
  Answer:
The default paper tray selection is set in the printer driver properties.
  From the Windows Desktop:
 
1) Start
2) Settings
3) Printers
4) Right click on the appropriate printer
5) Select properties
6) Select the details tab
7) Select setup
8) Select the paper tab
9) Edit the paper size to be A4 as the default
10) Select OK
11) Select OK
12) Close the printer window
 
2. Installing PCL Driver
  Question:
How do I install the PCL driver in MS Windows?
 
Answer:
The print driver is installed with the Add Printer utility.
Select: Start, Settings, Printers, Add Printer. Install printer to local/network port (if the printer has a NIB select appropriate network queue). At "Have disk" browse to the CD, or downloaded self-extracted driver *.inf file. Follow the installation wizard instructions and complete the installation.
 
3. Installing the MAC PPD's
  Question:
How do I install the MAC PPD's?
 
Answer:
Copy the Mac PPD file from the printer driver CD, and paste the PPD file into the printer description folder, in the system folder on the MAC HDD.
 
4. Uninstalling the PCL Printer Drivers
  Question:
How to uninstall the PCL printer drivers from Windows Operating Systems?
  Answer:
  1) Close all applications that are running on an Operating System.
  2a)
For Windows NT 4.0/2000: Open the "Printers" folder from the "Settings" in the "Start" menu.
  2b) For Windows XP/2003: Open the "Printers and Faxes " folder from the "Start" menu.
  3) Select the printers (icons) you wish to uninstall.
  4) Press the "Delete" key.
  5)
Go to the "Server Properties" in the "File" menu. (This required for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 only.)

Select the printer drivers that you wish to uninstall in the "Driver" tab. (This required for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 only.)
  7) Press the "Remove" key. (This required for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 only.)

If any printers (icons) or printer drivers are not removed in the step 4 or 7, try to stop and re-start the "Print Spooler" service in the "Services of the Computer Management". And them, try to carry out the step 4 or 7 again. (This required for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 only.)
  9) Restart Windows after the uninstallation. (This required for Windows NT4.0 only.)
 
5. Configure Printer Port
  Question:
How can I configure the printer port for my Ricoh printers on a Windows 9x machine?
 
Answer:
Download and install the SmartDeviceMonitor for Client software. When you add the port, select SmartDeviceMonitor, it will find the printer and create the port.
 
6. Clear A Print Job from the Ricoh MFP
  Question:
How do I clear a print job from the Ricoh MFP?
  Answer:
Select "Printer" button on the MFP, select job reset.
 
7. Program - Setting the IP Address on Printer
  Question:
How can I set the IP address on printer?
 
Answer:
The address can be changed from the operation panel or by using the web tools. From the operation panel:
  1) Press the Menu button
  2) Press the down arrow key until Host Interface appears on the display
  3) Press the Enter key, Network Setup will appear on the display
  4) Press Enter, IP address will appear on the display
  5) Press Enter
  6)
Use the up and down arrows to enter the address. When complete press Enter to accept the address. You may use a web browser and enter the Network Interface Board's IP address. Click on Set up TCP/IP. Enter the address in the correct field, then type in the password and click on the Accept Settings button.
 
8. Printer Sharing

Answer:
Yes, it's possible to connect the printer to a workstation using the parallel printer port and share it over a network.
 
9. Handling the Thick Paper
  Question:
I want to print on thick paper. Will the printer handle thick paper?
  Answer:
The Paper tray can handle thick paper.
 
If you plan to print on thick paper then be sure to select Thick Paper Mode with the print driver.
  From the Windows desktop:
 
1) Press Start
2) Press Settings
3) Select Printer
4) Right Click on Printer
5) Select Properties
6) Select setup
7) Edit paper type to be thick paper
8) Click Apply settings and test
 
10. Program - Printing Configuration Page
  Question:
How do I print a configuration page?
  Answer:
  From the machines' operation panel:
 
1) Press Menu The machine will go off line
2) Press the up or down arrow until you see "List Print" in the display
3) Press Enter
4) Press Enter
5) Press Enter to print the configuration page
  After the machine prints the configuration sheet, It will return to online.
